Earlier today, I participated in the Indo-Nepal Economic Conference in New Delhi, India, organized jointly by Kathmandu University, Nepal Centre for Contemporary Studies and EGROW Foundation. At the conference I called for a comprehensive economic partnership between India and Nepal, and shared prosperity and mutual growth in the region. I also touched up the deep-rooted, multi-faceted ties between India and Nepal, grounded in shared culture, geography, and economic complementarities.
Further, I highlighted key advancements in bilateral cooperation, such as cross-border infrastructure projects, electricity trade, and investments.
I also encouraged the Indian investors to explore opportunities in sectors like hydroelectricity, infrastructure, and tourism in Nepal. Further, I called for closer cooperation among the countries in South Asia that would enable a stronger regional synergy for a more resilient, prosperous and sustainable region.
