A highly productive conversation with H.E. Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman. I congratulated H.E. Albusaidi on the success of the 8th Indian Ocean Conference. We reviewed the gamut of Nepal-Oman ties, discussing ways to strengthen diplomacy and enhance cooperation across fields. To this end, Nepal and Oman have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation in the Fields of Diplomatic Studies and Training. I also requested the establishment of a Oman embassy in Nepal and the resumption of direct flights between Oman and Kathmandu. Together, these steps will facilitate the continued growth of Oman-Nepal ties.
